Combating single-use plastic

About

Amy and Ella are the founders of Kids Against Plastic (KAP), an environmental education charity, launched in 2016 when they were just 12 and 10 years old. Their mission is to empower young minds to become agents of change on environmental issues close to their hearts.

With over 280 members and counting, the platform provides the opportunity to young change-makers to lead their own environmental initiatives. What began as a small action campaign has grown into a movement of young people around the world.

Work

Amy and Ella developed the Plastic Clever scheme, which aims to foster a smarter approach to single-use plastic usage and includes a litter logging app to track and calculate collections done globally. The scheme has grown to engage more than 1800 schools, alongside cafes, businesses, festivals, and many more sectors.

Along with their family, the two sisters have picked up over 100,000 pieces of plastic litter.
