Protecting street children

About

C’est Prévue Emmy Lusila grew up in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. From the age of 13, she began caring for children abandoned on the streets. At 15, she founded Voice of Hope with her friends, an association fighting against juvenile delinquency and supporting street kids. At 17, C’est Prévue established La Maison des Anges, an orphanage that offers housing, food, healthcare, and education to 15 children between 4-months and 12-years old who had previously lived on the streets.

Work

There are an estimated 20,000 children living on the streets of Kinshasa. Sadly, their life expectancy is only 25 years and they are at high risk of being raped, starved, and abused, as well as coming into contact with diseases.

C’est Prévue is on a mission to protect these children. In addition to providing support to the children at her orphanage, she distributes water, food, and medicine through her health center to every child in need. She also works tirelessly to reunite street children with their families or find suitable orphanages for them
